E-Paper Display with BLE & NFC Connectivity
Project Information:
Players in media and advertising industry are adopting new technologies in terms of media displays/ advertisements. The Client was planning to get into the E-paper displays for variety of end-applications. The brief requirements specs were:
- Hardware modules for E-paper displays
- Single hardware platform for 2, 4 and 8-inch displays
- BLE Connectivity
- Low power design with expected battery life of 3-5 years
- Mobile App for communication with E-paper Display
Solution:
Client chose Teq Diligent to carry out feasibility of developing E-paper displays in the given cost targets in phase one, which was completed successfully. In phase two, Teq Diligent’s scope was to design, develop and deliver prototypes for field testing. Teq Diligent delivered the complete product meeting the requirement specs:
- Designed single HW platform based on Nordic SoCs
- Separate battery back-up board for 8-inch display design
- Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC connectivity (PCB antennas)
- Low power design with optimized firmware for battery life of 3-5 years
- Compact PCB to fit the requirement form factor
- Mobile app (supporting Android OS) for BT and NFC communication with the HW
- SW capable to show text as well as image on 2, 4 and 8-inch e-paper display
