GPS Tracker with BLE

Project Information:

GPS based location tracking is widely used application today right from Vehicles, kids, pets to important assets tracking. The client wanted to design a hardware which can be used across diverse commercial applications. The client shared one-line specification for the project: Gadget with GPS, BLE and 3G Connectivity for location tracking.

Solution:

Teq Diligent worked with client’s product management team and finalized the specifications for the device. Based on the specs, we offered the solution as details below:

• Hardware Platform based on:
  • Freescale Kinetis M0 Series MCU
  • Telit LE910 module
  • TI CC254x BLE Controller
• SPI Flash
• USB Port for charging
• Lithium Ion Rechargeable Battery
• Mobile application for device tracking

One of the challenge in this project was to design a compact hardware platform as client wanted to use same hardware platform with different IDs for different applications. Apart from compact form factor even Antenna Design for BLE and PCB layout for RF traces routing was critical.
